It's About Bovines

This is a pastel painting that I recently did.  I love how he (the bull) was watching me with his one eye as I was watching him.  I'm not sure what kind of bull this is, but he sure was cool.  This piece was purchased pretty quickly.

Obviously, just a couple of holsteens standing in the field.  I drew this with black, grey, and white pastel on colored paper.  I love working in black and white.

More Artwork

This is a charcoal drawing I did.  I really don't have a title for it.  But, I thought it turned out cool.  Drawing is, obviously, a passion for me.  I try to achieve subtle shading, as well as, different textures with the different mediums.  I used a compass for the eyeball, but beyond this, everything was drawn from my imagination.

I simply call this "Big Nose in the Air".  I drew this with pencil.  Then I scanned it hi-resolution with my computer.  After I scanned the image, I added the sepia tones and textures with a graphic editor called Painter 9.  This piece took "Best of Show" in a juried show back in 2001.

Sharing some artwork

Hello...I joined this blog site so I could share some of my art to the blog world.   I call this painting, "Rough Spot in the Middle of the Road".  It is from my "spot" series.  I won a few accolades from this piece.  It now sits in my brother's living room -- who recently purchased the piece.

This drawing is called "Periodontals".  Notice the periods on the dontals -- which is how I arrived at the title.  I like giving clever titles to some of my work.  In most cases, I think the viewer is amused when they see a clever or witty title that ties into the drawing.
